Bonus Post (Not the next Theme)
So by running through the pictures I have - and those I've posted - has made me realize that I lean on the whole 2 weeks in 'nam thing too much, and should stop and get some new material. That said; here is one of a girl at a school we visited during our trip. I'll be posting others over on Picasa. 1/100 s at f/7.1, ISO 400

Watering Holes
It was tough to pick one shot for this theme, but I feel like this shot could'nt be more about water control. This was taken 15m up on a filtration tower that an NGO had built near Danang. The local manager climbed up with us to demonstrate how the system worked, and I could'nt get over how wiry this guy was, given how he was all of 90 pounds. In the interest of full disclosure, I had the camera stuck on full auto, and the picture only became somewhat acceptable after some Photoshop work on contrasts, and edge sharpness. Mea Culpa. 1/200 s at f/9.0, ISO 400, 55mm.

God is in the Vastness
When I saw that you posted a church I was amped because I had so many of Saint Peters. The problem was most were good photos, but they relied on the fact that the subject is gorgeous more than photographic power. I like this one because of the guy taking a picture on a little tiny camera, I think it adds to how vast the place feels. f3.5, 1/15, ISO200, 18mm.

God is in the Details...
Not a Guard, but still a Portrait...
This was one of the local business community leaders in the town of Cau Mau, at the southern end of Vietnam's Route 1. He joined us for dinner at neon-lit local shrimp eatery, (we were in the Mekong delta, after all) and had a certain regal look about him that screamed 'paparazzo fodder.' f4.5, 1/60, ISO 400, 34mm, Flash

Qatar guard
I got a real kick out of this guy. I met him while I was going onto a roof that I undoubtedly was not allowed on, but did not see any specific signs saying I could not go up there. He kind of signaled for me to leave, but was too shy to be aggressive about it. I asked him for a photo and he did my favorite pose, trying to look tough. Oh and ISO 400, 1/40 sec, f/4.5, 50 mm.
